FAQs
Do I have to attend the course before the expiry date on my gift card?
No, you just have to book before the expiry date, but you can attend any slot with availability - before or after the expiry date.
Where are courses held?
At our charcuterie factory: Bray Cured, Taplow Common Road, Burnham, Berkshire, SL1 8FL. We’re easily reached from all over the country, not far from the M40 and M4 and M25.
It’s a 5 minute taxi journey from Taplow or Burnham station on the Elizabeth line. Ubers are usually available.
How do I book someone else who doesn't have a gift card onto the same course as me?
A lot of people bring a partner or friend along. There's a box on the redemption form where you can tell if you want to book any extra places. We'll send an invoice to your contact email address to pay, and we'll make sure you're booked on a course together. Please check pricing here (opens in a new tab).
My gift card says my experience includes golf, how does golf booking work?
After you request your booking through the form, we make the appropriate arrangements with the golf club for your course date. Please don't book a tee time directly with the golf club. We'll confirm details back to you by email. Hunstwood Golf Club is next door to us, less than 1 minute's drive.
What does a typical course day look like?
For a morning course you’ll start with a coffee and charcuterie canapés. You’ll get a tour of the butchery and our charcuterie-making factory, with a full explanation of how the whole process works from our award-winning charcutiers and butchers. You’ll get hands-on in the butchery to cut, create and season your own charcuterie creations under our expert guidance. Learn techniques to create the right cuts, delicious flavours, tasty meat-to-fat ratios, and safe cures so you can do it again at home. If your course involves sausage or salami making, you’ll get to use our professional sausage stuffer and learn how to do it in your kitchen too. Rounding off with a light lunch of English wine charcuterie tasting from our varied range of cured meats, you’ll discover the differences between the salamis and cured meats, and maybe you’ll also taste something you’ve prepared fresh that very morning.
For an afternoon course, the only change is that you’ll usually start with lunch and finish with coffee and canapés.
Do I need to bring any equipment?
No, we provide everything you need. We offer a Bray Cured apron and professional butcher’s knife to continue your charcuterie or butchery at home afterwards.
What do I take home from the course?
You’ll always have some goodies to enjoy at home - whether you take them away on the day, or we post them out to you later. What they are depends on the course and is explained on each course product page but could include sausages, cured duck ham, pâte or a joint to roast.
If you’ve made salami or bacon, we’ll ferment, hang and air-dry it for you in our climate-controlled rooms until it’s finished and ready to post out to you.
How many people will be on each course?
You’ll be in a small group of, usually, 6 to 12 people so there’s it’s a great opportunity to learn and ask questions.
Do you do private bookings, corporate or exclusive hire?
Yes, we often host private groups of 6+. If you want to book a private experience please get in touch so we can organise the perfect day for you.
Are there local places to stay overnight?
Yes, there are many great country hotels nearby depending on your budget, plus cheaper options and AirBnBs in Maidenhead and Slough.
